Minneapolis, MN - According to KFAN contributor Michael Russo, the Minnesota Wild have traded for Buffalo Sabres forward Jason Pominville.

The Wild have sent F Johan Larsson and G Matt Hackett to Buffalo, also included were the Wild’s 2013 first-round draft pick and a second-round pick in 2014.

     Pominville, 30 (11/30/82), has notched 25 points (10-15=25) in 37 games with the Sabres this season. He ranks tied for sixth in the NHL with 33 takeaways and 11th in TOI/game amongst NHL forwards at 20:53. The 6-foot, 185-pound native of Repentigny, Que., collected two points (1-1=2) in the 2012 NHL All-Star Game and has missed a total of nine games (all in 2010-11) since the start of the 2006-07 season.

     Pominville collected 73 points (30-43=73) in 82 games last season and added four points (1-3=4) in five playoff contests after being named the Sabres 16th full-time captain on Oct. 6, 2011. He has recorded 456 points (185-271=456), including 42 power-play goals, 20 game-winning tallies, a plus-47 rating and 147 penalty minutes (PIM) in 578 regular season contests during nine seasons with Buffalo (2003-2013). Pominville has notched 28 points (12-16=28) in 45 career playoff games.

A second round draft pick in 2001, Pominville has played the first seven years of his career with Buffalo and served as team captain before heading to Minnesota. In 37 games with Buffalo this season, Pominville has 10 goals and 15 assists.

Pominville has one year left on his contract at $5.3M.
