The price of something is only what someone is willing to pay for it, so how much is something from a country legend worth? Well in this case, the item in question is the 1973 Cadillac Eldorado previously owned by Waylon Jennings.
Yep, the country music legend's old white Cadillac is selling on Craigslist. In 2001, the car sold for $6,900 from a seller in Pennsylvania and now thirteen years later, the car is up for sale on a Missouri Craigslist page.
This time the car is selling for a bit more than a mere seven grand. A lot more actually. The list price for the car $28,000. The questions remain surrounding the reemergence of the white Cadillac. Is it really Jennings old car? Is it worth the price? Any interest so far? The seller answered these questions when contacted by Brian McManus.
"It was owned by a legend," says Casey Jones, who listed the car on Craigslist for a friend, who is not very tech savvy. Jones said that he and his friend have only put 4,000 miles on the car to add to the 80,000 that his friend bought it with.
"It mostly sits under cover in a garage. We take it out on nice days, cruise around town. That's what we use it for." Jones said. Why wouldn’t you take this beauty of a car out on the town and show it off, especially with the condition of the car being so good and it still runs like a brand new car, according to Jones.
Now let’s talk about the price, the car is listed at $28,000, is that a fair price? Well let’s use Willie Nelson’s old tour bus for reference. When the tour bus of the country icon surfaced for sale on Craigslist, the original asking price was $29,000. Just a few days later, the bus sold for over $86,000. Now will this kind of bidding war erupt in Jones’s favor, he wouldn’t dismiss the idea.
"I'll put it this way: If people start calling and offering a lot more than the asking price, I won't say 'No, no. That's too high.'" That seems like reasonable rational.
