Every time I've traveled to another city and taken a train or subway I've been a little freaked out about my distance from the platform and what's an acceptable distance to stand away from the train while still having a place in line to actually board that train. I don't want to get sucked into a passing train.
And by the way people fall on the tracks ALL THE TIME while waiting for trains.
Senator Richard Blumenthal was giving a speech Friday about train safety in Connecticut. Just as he uttered the words "Safety as you know is paramount..." this Amtrak train whizzed by at full speed. The tripod was a little close to the platform, clearly standing on the yellow line.
Everyone was just fine but I bet these gentlemen will stand farther away from trains from now on.
