We're having a few of Jeff's bosses for dinner this week. For dessert, I wanted to do a take on Dairy Queen's 'Peanut Buster Parfait.' I knew the ingredients: ice-cream, fudge and peanuts. I added a crushed Oreo element- here's the final result...
While I haven't tasted the finished product yet- with those ingredients how could it be bad??
Here's the recipe...
Peanut Buster Parfait Dessert with
Oreo Crust and Crumbles
1 package crushed Oreos
Melted Butter (1/4 to 1/2 cup, enough to moisten the crushed cookies)
Stir and press into the bottom of a pan. Freeze until hardened.
Let it sit on the counter until soft but not melted. Spread on top of crust and freeze until hard.
Hot Fudge and Peanuts
I bought the fudge pre-made but if you're feeling extra ambitious- you could make it. If you do make it on the stovetop, let it cool completely before putting it over the ice-cream.
I put the jar of fudge in the microwave for 25 seconds, stirred and put a thick layer on top. It melted a little but 'oh well.'
Top with a layer of peanuts and add one more layer of crushed Oreos. Place in freezer until completely frozen. ENJOY!
