The NFL is going against five decades of tradition with the next Super Bowl.

The league announced that it's breaking the tradition of using Roman numerals to identify Super Bowls for Super Bowl 50 next year. That means all the people that were looking forward to making jokes about an "L " after the big game will be out of luck. The game is set to take place Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, California.

The league will return to numerals for Super Bowl 51 – or LI – in 2016.
