According to a new study, Americans are consuming too much sugar – and all this sugar is killing us.

Researchers found that 71% of U.S. adults get more than the recommended 10% of their daily calories from added sugars in foods and drinks – and that this sugar consumption is connected to a higher risk of death due to cardiovascular disease.

The sugars that are causing problems are found in processed or prepared foods, such as sugar-sweetened drinks, grain-based desserts, fruit drinks, ice cream, candy, ready-to-eat cereals, and bread.
