I was one of the many people that was excited when Chipotle announced they were going to start serving queso. Once I tried it, I was very disappointed. It was like waking up on Christmas morning and thinking you got the toy you have been asking for, and getting socks! Chipotle has now admitted that they failed on the queso. Thank you for admitting your faults!
Chipotle is now testing a queso blanco which consists of a brand new, totally different queso recipe, and made with Monterey Jack and white cheddar, according to Delish. The article also states that Chipotle said their new queso blanco, “perfectly smooth texture and bold cheese flavor with a mild spicy heat and a smoky finish—perfect on the side with Chipotle’s freshly fried chips or on top of any burrito bowl."
Unfortunately, the queso blanco is only in the testing stage in Dallas, Detroit, and San Diego. If all goes well, it could be in Chipotle restaurants nationwide soon.
