Liberty University's Hugh Freeze Coaches Game From A Hospital Bed

Labor Day weekend was the best! There was college football back on our tv from Thursday night to Monday night! One of the games was Syracuse vs Liberty, and it had an interesting tone to the game. The head coach of the Liberty University football team Hugh Freeze, coached the game from his hospital bed! You know the saying, 'some things are bigger than sports'? I don't think that's true for this coach!

According to ESPN, about two weeks before the game, Hugh Freeze didn't think he would make it to the stadium at all. Freeze had surgery to treat a potentially life-threatening staph infection, and the last thing he wanted to do was extend his recovery time. Fast forward to game day and Freeze was feeling a lot better but still didn't want to hurt himself so Liberty University got him into the stadium and put a hospital bed in a tv/radio booth and cut a hole in the wall so he could see his other coaches in the coaching booth. Liberty University went on to lose to Syracuse by a score of 24-0. Even thought it was a loss, talk about being a football guy! He also gave his post-game press conference from his hospital bed as well. Check it out below
