So I just found out about "Zombie Fires". Fires are popping up in the Artic, Russia and Alaska. Apparently the outbreak of fires in those locations continued to smolder, even under the snow-pack of the winter months. Once it warms up enough, those smoldering areas ignite into full blown fires..."Zombie Fires"!
