A 7-Year-Old Boy Swam A Mile To Save His Dad and Sister

The bravery of this kid is amazing!

7-year-old Chase Poust and his 4-year-old sister Abigail were swimming in the St. John’s River in Jacksonville, Florida, with their father, Steven -- when things got dangerous. A river current swelled up and Abigail was carried off. Dad went after Abigail to make sure she was okay. Just before swimming off to help, he told Chase to swim to shore for help. Chase then began a long, one-mile swim back to land. He switched between floating on his back and doggie paddling. It took him an hour, but he made it safely, according to WRDW-TV.

Once Chase reached shore, he knocked on the door of the nearest home he could find and explained that his dad and sister were in trouble. Florida Fish and Wildlife eventually spotted Steven and Abigail. Thanks to the bravery and stamina of Chase -- and his hour-long swim for the ages -- everyone was safely brought back to shore
