Sara Evans' estranged husband, Jay Barker, was arrested early Saturday morning, after trying to ram his car into a car that she was riding in. He was charged with felony aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, according to CMT. The fact that they're separated came as a surprise to a lot of people. She filed for divorce in August, but they did a good job of keeping it under wraps. They haven't been living together for a while either. Whatever's going on between them, it hit a boiling point over the weekend. Here's what happened. Sara was at a party across the street from her house. But instead of walking home when it ended, she accepted a ride from someone.
Apparently, their vehicle crossed the street and pulled into her driveway, Barker put his car in reverse and tried to hit them "at a high rate of speed." He missed, and then drove away. That's when Sara called the cops. An officer was sent to her house at 1:30 A.M. Saturday morning on a domestic disturbance call. Sara told them what happened, and an "unnamed witness" supported it. Barker did come back, and that's when he was arrested. He posted a $10,000 bond and was released around 7:30 P.M. on Saturday. His court date is March 22nd.
