According to Bring Me The News, on Thursday, the Raptor Education Group, Inc., which is a northern Wisconsin nonprofit, has warned people that “loon fallout” events had been reported during the week. A Loon Fallout means that high numbers of loons had become unable to fly and crashed to the ground. However, this loon fallout is common for a few loons to mistakenly land, REGI says the increase is due to the recent mixture of rain and snow and changing air currents, which causes the loons to develop ice on their bodies and become unable to fly.
