Music speaks to everyone differently. And sometimes at different times.
Michael McDonald's solo career started over 40 years ago in 1982. Before that, he toured with Steely Dan 50 years ago, and then a couple of year after that became a temporary vocal replacement in The Doobie Brothers. But of course that ended up being a long term engagement.
So Michael McDonald is not the typical artist that an 11 year old might be into. And this girl was at first devastated to learn how old McDonald was when she first searched for his picture online.
The lesson here is to just enjoy the music that touches your soul.
