State fair season means "husband calling" is back. If you've never seen a "Husband Calling Contest," you're missing out.
It's like cow calling or hog calling. But it's wives pretending to call their husbands in from the other room, or from out in the fields. It dates back to way before cell phones were a thing, so all you had was your voice.
A bunch of state fairs have them now. Footage from recent competitions at the Iowa State Fair and Tennessee State Fair are making the rounds on social.
