Candy corn mystery solved … Candy corn is one of those Halloween candies people either love to eat, or love to hate. Ask any candy corn fan to describe what candy corn tastes like and they'll probably just say it tastes like candy corn. With no real natural flavors in it, it's kind of hard to pinpoint exactly what it tastes like, but the Jelly Belly company has given it a try.
Jelly Belly, which is one of the companies that produces candy corn, says the little waxy candies should taste like a "wonderful blend of creamy fondant, rich marshmallow, and warm vanilla notes." Of course, that's what traditional candy corn tastes like. Brach's, another large producer of the candy, also offers different flavors like caramel apple, kettle corn, and strawberry funnel cake. According to the National Confectioners Association, candy companies produce about 35 million pounds of candy corn each year.
