Having A Bad Day? GM Exec Crashes 123k Pace Car In Detroit

GUY CRASHES PACE CAR BEFORE GRAND PRIX INDYCAR RACE

The Detroit Grand Prix got off to a bumpy start over the weekend when the guy driving the pace car lost control and slammed into a concrete wall, delaying the race until cleaning crews could get the debris cleared off the track.

The driver of the Corvette ZR1 is an executive for General Motors who actually has gone through special training to drive high-performance cars like the ZR1. On this day, though, it didn’t matter. The back end swung around on the second turn and the $123,000 car was wrecked.
