Neighborhood Throws Halloween Early For Little Boy About To Have Surgery

Halloween is the time of year for kids to get dressed up and collect tons of candy. But one little boy almost missed out on trick or treating because he was scheduled to have a very necessary surgery.

According to the NY Post, a 4-year-old named Sonny Mead from Edwardsville, Illinois was diagnosed with Craniosynostosis, which causes the skull bones to fuse prematurely, impacting brain growth. He is scheduled to have surgery today and the recovery time is 2-6 months, which meant he would not be able to go trick or treating.

When one of the mom's in his neighborhood heard he wasn't going to be able trick-or-treating, she got the entire neighborhood to agree to have Halloween early so he could participate too.
