KFC Announces Winner Of Harland Baby Contest

Maybe you'll remember, back in August KFC announced they were going to give $11,000 to the first baby named Harland born on September 9th in honor of the Colonel's birthday.

 According to Kentucky.com

Sept. 9 would have been the 128th birthday for Sanders, KFC’s iconic founder. The $11,000 KFC offered was a nod to the famous 11 herbs and spices used in its fried chicken.

Kentucky-based KFC introduced the winner, Harland “Harley” Rose. She was born Sept. 9 at 8 pounds, 1 ounce to parents Anna Pilson and Decker Platt, of Southern Pines, N.C., according to KFC.

The whole point of the promotion was to increase the popularity of Harland as a boy's name, but since Reba is the new Colonel Sanders, it only makes sense that Harland is a girl! Click here to read more.
