At Upprinting Food we are dedicated to reduce food waste. Mainly by 3D printing food from residual food flows. Worldwide, one third of the food is wasted. The most wasted food in the Netherlands is bread. In addition, a lot of fruit and vegetables are being thrown out, often because it is not looking nice enough, or too ripe to be sold.
By using this food for 3D printing, it looks attractive again. After printing, the food is baked and dried, making it a crispy texture and long shelf life. Like this, we create new value for food that would have been thrown away.
