A white Bear Lake couple is hosting a day long celebration of America on August 24th from 9am-5pm in an effort to collect items for care packages for soldiers deployed overseas. The day consists of a 1000 piece American flag made out of cupcakes! They hope to recognize as many veterans as they can during their day of Vocalist singing the national anthem, Cub Scouts saying the Pledge of Allegiance, bagpipes, Hot Rod cars, and motorcycles. One woman will even be taking her oath to become an American citizen.
One of their hopes are to show people that we can all still have our love of America in common with each other. No matter what our political differences, or backgrounds may be. Many businesses and individuals have already started collecting items to bring to the event. The couple (Jeff and Racheal Loeks) are holding the event to help “Beyond The Yellow Ribbon Network” which raises money to ship care packages overseas, and helps families of deployed soldiers.
Any interest by you would result in so many more items received for the soldiers. Thank you for considering! Click here for more information.
