Kenny Chesney is hitting the road in 2027 with “my good friend” Eric Church, plus Sheryl Crow, Greylan James and a special appearance by Old Dominion.
Chesney announced “The Original Vibe Room Tour” on Tuesday morning (September 15) after stirring anticipation with teasers on social media. The run of shows brings Chesney back to stadiums after two years of playing immersive residencies at Sphere Las Vegas.
“Our Vibe Room has always been a place at our shows to welcome our friends and family, a place for us to feel at home and connected while we’re out on the road,” Chesney shared on Instagram. “After two summers away from stadiums, we wanted all of No Shoes Nation to be a part of that special feeling next year. I am so excited to bring The Original Vibe Room Tour to you all next year, joined by my good friend [Eric Church] along with [Sheryl Crow], and [Greylan James]. We even have [Old Dominion] making a special appearance in Buffalo. It’s going to be a great summer.”
Church noted in a post of his own that “it’s been more than 10 years” since the last time he and Chesney toured together, “so this is going to be a really special show.”
James, a fellow Knoxville, Tennessee-born singer-songwriter, shared childhood photos on Instagram as he reflected, “I’ve been waiting to say this my whole life.” He and Chesney “grew up in the same hometown, so all l heard about as a kid was about this guy that left Knoxville for Nashville and became a country music star. I told my parents that’s what I wanted to be. So I learned his songs, recorded them at a karaoke cafe, cut the sleeves off my t-shirts, learned guitar, and put together a band. Then spent the next 20 years working towards this moment.. obsessively chasing it. I randomly met Kenny when I was 11 while playin in a bluegrass band, and I asked him for advice. he said: ‘Stay in school, and learn how to write songs.’” James said he wrote his first No. 1 for Chesney about a decade later, kicking off “the beginning of the most full circle mentorship, friendship, and story in the history of forever.”
Chesney’s tour announcement arrives shortly before he delivers his next studio album, Silver Sands Marina. So far, the Country Music Hall of Fame member has released the title track, “Burn My Boat,” “Carry On” and “Goldfish” from the 11-track project. Chesney previously said Silver Sands Marina “was built with human emotions that make us feel alive.” The album will release on Friday, September 25.

“We started the Vibe Room in 2002 as a place for our people – the adults, guests, musicians – to come together, get a drink, hang out, meet up, maybe make some new friends,” Chesney said in a statement. “It was a fun place, and I feel like that’s what 2027’s gonna be all about. So what else would we call it? The Original Vibe Room Tour 2027 is gonna be all the things, but especially a lot of fun, a lot of music and a lot of songs people have lived their lives to. Get ready. We’re coming”
