As I get older, I appreciate the work of Mr. Rogers more and more.
Fred Rogers was a hero of mine when I was a kid. He was good, safe entertainment. And by safe I mean not only the content, but as a young child not feeling overwhelmed by an adult. He never had any expectations or judgement like many adults in my life did.
One day his crew pranked him by switching out his shoes with someone else who had a smaller size. If I was halfway through a scene I might have gotten frustrated, but Mr. Rogers just kept on going and laughed with the crew!
I'm glad my kids experienced some Mr. Rogers content with Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood. Many of the same characters show up in the cartoon.
