Facebook is going to let people know if their data was shared with the firm Cambridge Analytica. Word is, Facebook will send messages to the 87-million users who had their data improperly given to the firm starting today.
As you likely know, Cambridge Analytica was connected to Donald Trump's presidential campaign and used the data to target people during the election. All of the more than two-billion Facebook users will get notices about protecting their information.
For his part, Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg will be on Capitol Hill today ahead of his two days of congressional hearings over his company's data sharing controversy. His plan? To hold meetings with some lawmakers – including members of the congressional committees he'll be testifying in front of this week.
Zuckerberg is set to testify at a joint hearing of the Senate Judiciary and Commerce committees tomorrow. Then on Wednesday, he'll be in front of the House Energy and Commerce Committee.
