Hear It: Music Meant To Calm Down Stressed Dogs!

Tuffy is an anxious dog. His biggest issue is separation anxiety. If playing this music would help him relax, even though it'd drive me crazy, I'd play it for him...

Terry Woodford has been in the music industry for a long time, working with such legendary groups as the Supremes, the Temptations and the Commodores.

These days, Terry is using his amazing talents to create music for stressed-out shelter dogs.

His latest works -- which he calls “Canine Lullabies” -- mix the sounds of a human heartbeat to traditional lullabies. The end result sounds like the melody of “London Bridge,” for example, but with New Age-inspired music and vocals, with a “thump-thump” in the background.

These tracks have been played at animal shelters here in America, as well as in Britain, India and Australia.

How effective is his music? Apparently hey have a magical effect on animals!

Volunteers at the shelters have found that Terry’s creations help reduce barking and generally lower the stress levels. Dogs calm down and seem to feel at home quicker when the special music is played for them.
