Girl's Quick Thinking Saves Her From Getting Kidnapped- Learned On TV's SVU

“Law & Order: Special Victims Unit” can list “lifesaver” among its list of accomplishments. In case you missed it, a young girl in Florida used what she learned watching Law & Order SVU to help catch the man who tried to kidnap her.

Alyssa was waiting on the bus when a man tried to snatch her. She fought him off and smeared the blue slime she was playing with on his arm. She said she learned that trick from watching the “Law & Order” show.

When Mariska Hargitay heard about the story, she sang Alyssa’s praises on The ‘Gram. “First and most important, I am so relieved and grateful to know that you are safe,” she told her. “I am so honored to be part of your incredible story. You are one BRAVE, Strong, and Smart young woman. I think the SVU squad might have to add slime to their crime-fighting gear!” She signed off with, “With all my love, your number one fan, Mariska.”

Mariska is currently recovering from an injury. According to her IG post of her walking out of a hospital, an MRI found a broken knee, a hairline fracture in her ankle, and a torn ligament. “Great news is I don’t need surgery,” she said, adding, “Just so you know, this did NoT happen at work!”
