Why Is Thomas Rhett Making Grown Men Cry?

Thomas Rhett's daughters, Willa GrayAda James, and Lennon Love, are years away from dating. Still, the country star is preparing for the moment that someone shows up on his doorstep to take his girls out for a night on the town.

In a recent interview with Cody Alan, the "Die A Happy Man" singer shared the personal reality behind his song, "To The Guys That Date My Girls," and explained that this track makes "burly men cry."

"I was riding around with a buddy of mine who lives in Charleston. We were just talking about that first moment when somebody comes over to pick up my kids for a date," says Thomas. "And, just kind of being like, "What do you say?"

"Are you going to be the super stern dad? Are you going to joke? Are you going to invite them in for coffee? Whatever that means," says Thomas. "And, for me, this was kind of a letter to whoever it is, and just getting across, "This is my whole world right here, so please, for the love of God, treat her right."

Thomas debut the song, "To The Guys That Date My Girls," to a packed house on Saturday, August 17th, during his show in Pelham, AL.

"I wrote that song in Alabama last year, and we played it in concert that same night," says Thomas. "I watched big ole burly men just crying their eyes out when I played this song, and I knew we had something special. I think it's been one of the most anticipated songs on this record. Definitely one of my favorites on the album."

"To The Guys That Date My Girls," will be featured on TR's 'Country Again, Side A' album, due out on April 30th. Take an early listen by clicking the link below.
