Netflix Docuseries 'The Trials Of Gabriel Fernandez' Is A Hard One To Watch

When I'm looking for something to watch on Netflix I tend to gravitate towards documentaries. Netflix has been putting out a lot of docuseries lately. But I think this docuseries might be a hard one to watch according to some viewers. I will issue a warning that what I am about to describe about the docuseries, some readers might fight it sickening or upsetting.

The docuseries is called "The Trials Of Gabriel Fernandez," it's a six-part series about a little boy that was tortured. When Gabriel was brought to the hospital because of a call from his mother about an incident, it was revealed at the hospital in the opening scene that he had three ribs broken, his teeth were knocked out with a bat, and his lungs and groin were severely injured by BB gun pellets. Gabriel was pronounced brain dead that same day he was taken in, and then he was taken off life support two days later. In the docuseries, the cause of death is all the abuse and neglect from his own mother Pearl Fernandez and her boyfriend Isauro Aguirre.

I finished the docuseries yesterday and it was hard to watch at times. One minute you're shedding tears for Gabriel because how could his own mother do that or allow that to happen to her child. Then the next minute you're angry with the social workers, and how could they allow him to remain at his house to get abused day in and day out until his death. The only thing Gabriel wanted was to be loved. There are plenty of reactions to the docuseries on Twitter. I won't give it away but the scene that made me cry was the Mother's Day scen.

You can watch the trailer for the docuseries below.
