Minnesota Bakery Is Baking 800 Free Cakes For 2020 High School Graduates

The class of 2020 is missing on a lot of things because of the COVID-19, and graduation is one of them!

A Minnesota baker, named Bill Hanisch and his ex-wifeRobin Hanisch are working overtime to decorate 800 cakes for graduating high school students, according to the Washington Post. The bulk of the cake orders is due by graduation day, June 4th!

Bill who owns Hanisch Bakery and Coffee Shop, which was voted “Best Bakery in Minnesota." He said, “These cakes are a way to let the kids know that we're proud they made it through 12 years of school. Even though they can't graduate together, they deserve to be recognized.”

Originally the bakery and coffee shop agreed to bake 220 cakes for free for seniors at his alma mater, Red Wing High School in Red Wing, Minnesota!

His Facebook post went viral and people donated to his bakery. Then more schools in the region along the Mississippi River reached out asking Hanisch to bake cakes for their graduating seniors!
