When I was a kid my Dad saved everything, you know just in case it was worth money someday. Well when I was around 12 or so I was very much into Pokémon and the Pokémon card game. I had a ton of cards, I had the badges from the Pokémon League they had at Toys 'R' Us. As I got older and not much into Pokémon cards I decided to get rid of them... although I kept the holographic cards because... they could be worth something someday and that is starting to become true!
The demand for Poke Demand for Pokémon cards continues to soar and this time it was a sealed box of the cards that was sold at an auction for a record $408,000, according to Polygon. Now, before you go digging in the basement for your old Pokémon cards you should know that the ones that sell the highest are first edition and it will say it right on the card.
The box that sold for $408,000 was a Pokémon First Edition Base Set Sealed Booster Box, and it broke the previous world record, when a similar item sold for $360,000 back in November of last year.
