I always thought there should be an app designed like a dating app but for wedding dates so you don't have to go alone to them. Turns out I could have made some money because now Tinder is doing just that.
Tinder announced they are going to tackle one of the most difficult tasks if you're single and that's finding a wedding date. According to Rolling Stone, Tinder members can now sign up for the “Plus One” feature in the app's Explore section and make a profile where the wedding is taking place and what they’re looking for. The company says that this feature is for the new “plus one etiquette” at weddings, where the traditional rule of only bringing a date if you’re in a committed relationship doesn’t fit today's dating habits.
A Tinder survey also found that Gen Z members are more likely to go to a wedding if they can bring a guest, with 35% of respondents ages 22-26 confirming if they’re allowed a date before RSVPing to a wedding.
