An Open Letter To Taylor Swift

Dear Taylor Swift,

I wanted to pen this open letter to you just to say “Thank you.”

Let me start from the beginning.

I’ve had the pleasure of witnessing your ascension from that young teenager walking around the radio station in the early 2000s, shaking the hand of every person you could find, no matter their position, and introducing yourself with “Hi, I’m Taylor” to the superstar I saw onstage in Las Vegas last weekend.

It was during this stop on your Eras Tour, watching my two teenage girls sing along to every word of every song, that it hit me; the true impact of your career. And I’m not just talking about your successes or evolution.

Every step of the way, you’ve carried yourself with grace, intelligence and a fearless swagger. You’ve reinvented yourself countless times, stitching together a string of hits in multiple genres, from country to pop to alternative, all while staying true to who you are.

I’ve been fortunate enough to meet you several times and even got to introduce you to my oldest daughter. It’s still her favorite picture ever.

You’ve never been anything less than gracious, humble and hospitable. I’ll never forget getting that handwritten card in the mail, saying so many kind things about my family, including my kids.

Who does that?

It’s the little things you and your team do that create lasting connections with your fans. There are far too many to mention here.

But what I want to tell you is how thankful I am for you as a role model to my 13 and 15 year old daughters. In a world of disingenuous stars and anti-heroes, you are the antithesis.

You show young people, and women in particular, that the proverbial glass ceiling is merely a window to what’s possible, as you have shattered every single one you’ve encountered.

I speak for most parents when I say we do not take this lightly. We want our children to grow up and bring to life their wildest dreams. You have shown them that with hard work, persistency and kindness, anything is possible.

So to see that all culminate to history being made again as the first woman to headline Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, during Women’s History Month too, it hit me. You help my girls believe they can achieve their dreams.

You effortlessly weaved 17 years of diverse music together in a concert that clocked in over 3 hours. The meticulous attention to details was noticed and respected. You somehow made a room of 60,000+ screaming fans feel like an intimate setting. The production value was like nothing I’ve ever seen and the music sounded as good as the original recordings (Taylor’s Version).

On behalf of all parents, Thank you for an incredible experience and being such a good human for our kids to look up to!

Good luck on the rest of your tour and we can’t wait to see what you achieve next.

All the best,

MoJoe Roberts and his family of Swifties

PS – I hope you don’t mind, but I put together a short video with highlights from your Vegas show.
