"Monday Night Football" will NOT be using HANK WILLIAMS JR.'s "All My Rowdy Friends Are Here on Monday Night" in their opening this year.
The reason has to do with COVID-19. They're saying the song "will not resonate for games that will be contested in mostly empty stadiums." They also haven't decided if it'll ever come back.
For this year, they're going with a new version of Little Richard's song "Rip It Up" that uses his voice mixed with instrumentals by a band named Butcher Brown. This is the second time Hank Jr.'s song has been dropped from the show. It got tossed back in 2011. And then brought it back in 2017. (Sports Business Daily)
