The "Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade" is still happening this year . . . but it'll be different due to the pandemic. The biggest change is there won't be any crowds.
The parade usually draws somewhere around 3.5 million people to Manhattan along the 2.5-mile route. But otherwise, there won't be TOO many differences for people watching at home.
The executive producer of the parade says, quote, "[Viewers will] still see the balloons. They're still going to see the floats. They're still going to see Santa and Broadway and all of these elements that they're used to seeing. "We're going to see some social distancing. We're going to have masks, things like that. But it's still going to be the parade they know and love."
One other thing . . . No one under the age of 18 will be participating in the parade. The previously-selected high school and college marching bands have been moved to NEXT year's parade. Instead, this year's parade will feature "locally-based professional marching and musical ensembles."

And this is great news! Scotland's prime minister recently reassured kids that Santa is an essential worker, and he'll still be able to make his deliveries this year.
