In an interview with "People", CHRIS JANSON gave the frightening details about his house fire earlier this month. As you may have heard, everyone got out safely, and no one was injured. Here's what happened.
The whole family was asleep when his wife Kelly heard a beep coming from downstairs, so she woke him up. He said, quote, "If it weren't for her hearing that faint 'beep, beep' of the fire detector, it could have been very bad." The fire was in his basement studio right below their bedroom.
He called 911, and Kelly and the two kids evacuated. Then he tried to put out the fire with huge buckets of water. Quote, "I went into survival mode. This was not a little fire. This was a legit, '7-foot flame, taller than me' fire. It was a 'melting my ceiling fan onto my ottoman' fire." "[It] melted my ottoman and literally created a campfire essentially right in the middle of my studio room. Thankfully, it didn't burn the house."
Cleaning crews have been working hard to clean up the lower level and Chris' studio. The good news is that there was no structural damage to their home.
