Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame Rejects Dolly Parton's Wishes To Bow Out

Now the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is rejecting DOLLY PARTON's request to be removed from this year's nominations. They posted a statement on social media.

Here are some highlights: They started out by acknowledging her request, and complimenting her "incredible talent and humility".

The Hall continued, "From its inception, Rock & Roll has had deep roots in Rhythm & Blues and Country music. It's not defined by any one genre, rather a sound that moves youth culture. Dolly's music impacted a generation of young fans and influenced countless other artists that followed."

They also admitted they're too far into the process, and can't shove it into reverse. Quote, "Dolly's nomination, along with the other 16 for the class, was [already] sent out to our 1,200 general ballot voters."

They closed it out with a compliment, because, of course. Quote, "We are in awe of Dolly’s brilliant talent and pioneering spirit and are proud to have nominated her for induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame."
