Add Barney to the list of franchises getting rebooted.
Mattel announced today (Monday) that the big purple dinosaur has gotten a redesign in a "comprehensive revitalization" and will appear in new movies, TV shows, YouTube content and merchandise.
The first new Barney project is an animated series that will debut next year. According to IGN, it'll be targeted toward pre-schoolers and "will feature the ubiquitous purple dinosaur and friends, introducing new audiences to the world of Barney through music-filled adventures centered on love, community, and encouragement."
