Taylor Swift is coming clean.
The one-time country music megastar surprised fans Saturday (March 31) at Nashville’s Bluebird Café for performances alongside songwriter Craig Wiseman.
In addition to singing stripped-down versions of Shake It Off,” “Love Story” and “Better Man,” Taylor told a story that ended with her and best friend Ed Sheeran stealing a bottle of Fireball whiskey at a CMT Music Awards after party.
“I got her a shot of Fireball, and then I got her another one,” Craig recalled. “For the rest of the party, I would go get a shot of Fireball … and snake my hand through the people in her general direction. I don’t even know if she took it, but it disappeared.”
Taylor’s performance was filmed for a documentary in honor of the Bluebird's 35th anniversary.
“I wanted to say a big thank you to the Bluebird Café,” she said. “I think any songwriter in town would echo my sentiments and say that this is kind of the only place where this exists—this particular place where you get to come and hear the writer’s take on the songs they’ve put out into the world.”
The pair ended the evening by taking a shot of—what else?—Fireball.
Taylor begins her Reputation Stadium Tour on May 8 at the University of Phoenix Stadium.
