The Church Safety Summit is for lay people, elders, trustees, ushers, greeters, deacons, church council members, and church workers—anyone who is interested in the safety and protection of people attending their church. Participants will learn to assess their risks and ability to respond to medical emergencies, fires, natural disasters and acts of violence. You'll also be introduced to and equipped with a basic and advanced level understanding of safety risks and preparedness.
The summit will include an overview of safety risks, preparedness, planning, prevention, response and recovery from experts and practitioners in the first responder fields. There will also be breakout sessions and panels to answer questions. Participants will be given sample “Church Safety Plans” and resource lists to assist with developing customized safety plans based on risk assessment priorities.
