A toddler appears to be safe after she fell out of a car near the downtown Hy-Vee at Cherry Street near Riverfront Drive shortly before noon Monday.
The video of a 2-year-old girl, strapped into a carseat, toppling out of the driver's side rear door of a sedan at about 11:45 a.m. as the car turned around a corner has gone viral.
The child was properly fastened in the safety seat but the seat was not fastened to the vehicle seat, according to police, and now police want to file charges. It's unclear why the vehicle door opened.
