Faith Hill revealed one of the "really difficult" and "gross" parts of filming for her role in 1883 in a recent installment of Variety's Actors on Actors series. Hill stars in the western drama opposite her husband, Tim McGraw.

The "Love Is the Foundation" singer spoke with Courteney Cox about the challenges of playing a woman in the 19th century, via People. She recalled when the series creator Taylor Sheridan called her while she was at a wedding to tell her that she could no longer shave her armpits. "That was really difficult, and Taylor actually called my husband," she explained. "We were at a wedding, our nephew's wedding, and he said, 'Who's gonna be the one to tell your wife that she has to stop shaving under her arms?' And I'm thinking, 'What? We're at a wedding. Can this wait?' He goes, 'No, stop tonight.'"

"All due respect to those who love that, and all that freedom, woo!" she continued. "But for me, personally, I just don't like it." Cox responded by saying that due to her laser hair removal treatments, she wouldn't have been able to grow out her armpit hair. "I don't laser, but I may now, so I never have to do that again," Hill replied. "It really grossed me out, I have to say." The "Breathe" singer later explained that she had suggested taping fake hair under armpits while filming, but her request was declined.
