Luke Combs’ 18-track album, Growin’ Up, made its long-awaited debut on Friday Morning (March 24), packed with high-energy anthems and heartfelt ballads that capture the stage of life the country hitmaker is in now. The collection was so powerful, Combs’ pregnant wife said she was reduced to tears.

“It may be bc I’m pregturnt but I am crying at songs that aren’t meant to be sad??” Nicole Combs wrote on her Instagram story on Friday. “Love this album
 Great job mi love.”

The proud parents announced earlier this week that they’re “joining the 2 under 2 club! Baby boy #2 coming this September!!” Combs welcomed his firstborn child, son Tex Lawrence, in June 2022, only a few days before releasing his previous album, Growin’ Up, the companion album that preceded Combs’ latest project.

Combs celebrated Gettin’ Old’s release with an exclusive iHeartRadio Album Release Party on Thursday evening (March 23) in Nashville, Tennessee. During the event, the country giant played career-spanning hits and new tracks on Gettin’ Old, between a few exclusive interview questions from iHeartRadio's Wayne D.

“Sometimes when I listen to it — and someone will probably be upset that I say this, but I’m like, ‘man, am I like, super boring?’” Combs told Wayne D of his “coming of age” project. Though he loves the songs on the album, “it’s like, I’m in bed by 10 o’clock because I got a kid now, so maybe it makes sense. I don’t know. It’s just where my songwriting went.”

“This album is about the stage of life I’m in right now,” Combs previously explained of the project. “One that I’m sure a lot of us are in, have been through, or will go through. It’s about coming of age, loving where life is now but at the same time missing how it used to be, continuing to fall for the one you love and loving them no matter what, living in the moment but still wondering how much time you have left, family, friends, being thankful, and leaving a legacy. Me and so many others have poured their hearts and souls into this record and I hope you love it as much as we do.”

Gettin’ Old arrives just in time for the reigning iHeartRadio Music Awards Country Artist of the Year (who is nominated in multiple categories at the 2023 iHeartRadio Music Awards) to kick off his massive world tour.
