A Plastic Bag Will Cost You 5 Cents At Minneapolis Stores

Grab your reusable shopping bags next time you head to the grocery store!

A plastic (or paper) bag will now cost you 5 cents in Minneapolis. The city's "Bring Your Own Bag" ordinance passed by a 10-0 vote in the city council in November, and goes into effect, Jan. 1.

The goal's to encourage shoppers to bring their own reusable bags. This is going to take a little getting used to for me- I have the bags at my house already- it's just going to be a matter or retraining myself to keep them in the car so I can actually use them. We got this!
