Working From Home: Is Your Partner's "Work Persona" Way Different?
Yesterday, I broadcast from home for the first time. This scenario gives me a new co-worker, my husband Jeff!
What's the difference between "work Jeff" and "not work Jeff?" I've only noticed one small thing...Jeff is a loud talker (I know, I know, I shouldn't cast stones) but he's an even louder talker when he's on a work call :) As I broadcast from our upstairs spare bedroom yesterday, Jeff was downstairs in the living room and I could hear every word he said during a conference call. Overall, I'd say we share a workspace pretty well together...but it is only day two!
Your new co-worker …With so many of us working from home, lots of couples are getting to know the “work side” of their partner for the very first time.
InStyle deputy editor Laura Norkin recently tweeted about hearing her husband in "full work mode" for the first time: “A funny thing about quarantining is hearing your partner in full work mode for the first time. Like, I'm married to a ‘let's circle back’ guy -- who knew?” Her tweet went viral with many chiming in about experiencing the work side of their significant other for the first time.
