Ken Jennings Named 1st Jeopardy Guest Host, This Comedian May Be Next...

Ken Jennings Crush Jeopardy's Winnings Record

Jeopardy! champ KenJennings will guest-host the first new episodes of the game show following the death of Alex Trebek.

Sony Pictures Television says a permanent replacement host will not be named yet. For now, the show will continue on with a slate of guest hosts.

Ken, who had a 74-game win streak and holds the record for highest winnings in regular-season play with $2.52 million, will begin taping shows on November 30th. His first episode will air on January 11th.

Between December 21st and the 28th, Jeopardy! will air 10 of Trebek’s best episodes. The last episodes that he filmed will air the week of January 4th.

The second guest host might be 48-year-old comic Dane Cook.

On Monday, Dane tweeted how Jeopardy! contacted his management about becoming a temporary host. Dane agreed to basically audition for the role of Jeopardy! host. (quote) “I hope this can happen. I would love to honor Alex Trebek in that fashion!”
