One Of Matthew McConaughey's First Gigs Was A Trisha Yearwood Video!

Before he was a star, Matthew McConaughey played the hot guy in a Trisha Yearwood video. He talked about it on a recent "Kelly Clarkson Show." Quote, "Well,'Walkaway Joe' I think it was early 1992.

"I was going to college here at the University of Texas. This is before 'Dazed and Confused'. . . and I was trying to get odd jobs in front of the camera when I could. And I got cast in that music video to play Joe.

"Things are going well [in the video] where we end up at the last stop. She wakes up and Joe, myself, is nowhere to be seen. Therefore the title,'Walkaway Joe'."

The song features background vocals from Don Henley of the Eagles. But he and Trisha didn't film their scenes on the same set as Matthew. Trisha talked about that in an interview back in 2014.

Quote, "Matthew was cast from local talent in Austin, Texas, where the footage was shot. The performance with Don Henley was shot in Nashville, so I never met him. If he ever wants to be in another Trisha Yearwood video, I won't make him audition."
