You might be redneck but these two neighbors are rednecker than you.
According to 5 News in Arkansas, two neighbors in northern Arkansas showed up at a hospital on Sunday with severe bruises, and chest pain.
It turns out that one of the guys bought a bulletproof vest. They had been drinking and thought it was a great idea to test it out. So, 50-year-old Charles Ferris wore the vest first, and had his 36-year-old neighbor Chris Hicks shoot him in the chest with a 22-caliber rifle. Thankfully, the vest stopped the bullet.
Apparently, Charles got angry at how much it hurt getting shot with a bulletproof vest on. So, he told Chris to put the vest on and....unloaded a clip into his back. Fortunately, it stopped all those bullets too.
The best part about this whole story is their cover story: Charles didn't want Chris to get in trouble. So he claimed they were paid $200 to protect an "asset," aka someone who needed protection… Supposedly, they got into a shootout with a mysterious man in the woods while they were guarding said “asset.” What is this, an episode of SVU??
Anyways, they would have gotten away with it if it wasn't for Charles's wife who blew their cover when she got to the hospital. She explained what really happened, and now both guys are facing charges for aggravated assault, and up to six years in jail!
