If You're Doing This New Dating Term You're Heartless

It's been about 4 years since I've been in the dating scene, and let me tell you, some of the dating stories I've heard are something out of horror movie. If you find yourself trying to hide from a recent or potential date, you might want to learn this new term.

According to the New York Post, there's a new dating term called "cloaking." At first I thought this new "term" just came out because Game Of Thrones new season came out yesterday. It turns out "cloaking" is kind of like ghosting, but cloaking is even more heartless.

Instead of just ghosting them, which is just ignoring them and not returning calls or texts, “cloaking” means you block them on every app you've used to communicate. This means whatever dating app you may’ve met on, Facebook, Instagram, and you also block their number. So there's literally no way to get in touch with you.

Where did "cloaking" come from, you ask? A reporter in the UK used the term this month after she got stood up on a date. The guy never showed, and ignored her calls. And when she tried to hit him up on the dating app they'd been using, he'd blocked her.

Genius? Or rude? Maybe a bit of both…?
