If it was up to Blake Shelton, he'd stop releasing albums. He'll always record music, but since albums aren't a big deal anymore he'd rather release one song at a time. It came up when he was asked when his next album will be out.
He told ET Online, quote, "I don't know. I don't want to put out an album. I really don't. I'm sure that at some point my record company people are going to pressure me into it, but as of now, I'm not putting out an album this year. I know that. But when I think about an album right now I'm just like, 'Do people care about them anymore?' I don't know. But I'm having a blast just releasing singles. Maybe I'll do that from now on."
Blake said that he sees the writing on the wall, and eventually his his record company will too. They'll have to. You may have heard last year's report that said albums are dying and there's nothing we can do about it.
