Young Boy Uses A Machete And His Little League Skills To Fend Off Burglar

I love baseball, it's been my favorite sport as long as I can remember! I started playing the great game of baseball when I was 6-years-old, starting in Little League all the way through high school. Who knew that skills you learned in Little League can help you fend yourself!

An 11-year-old boy named Braydon Smith used a machete to fend off a 19-year-old burglar using his Little League skills! He was on the phone with Mom when the suspect entered the home through a window. Braydon spoke withABC 11and said,"He pointed a pellet gun at me that was located in our house. I knew that it wasn't loaded so I just sat down and got in my closet like he told me to. He went into the living room to grab my phone to make sure I didn't call the 911 or anything. When I saw him try to put it in his pocket. I grabbed my machete off of my wall and went to hit him right there." He hit him in the back of the head with his baseball swing."

Braydon says he bought the machete with gift cards awhile ago, and uses it to chop down trees. He also had this to say about the suspect, "You shouldn't have done what you've done. You're better off to get a job than breaking into other people's houses."

Braydon also has his Dad to thank for the lesson he taught him the last time thieves robbed their house. He told him, "if they come through the door, you let 'em have it."
