I'm about 100% sure that my fascination with pizza started when I was in the 3rd or 4th grade. There was this program called 'Book It.' If you read a certain amount of books you got a coupon for a personal pan pizza at Pizza Hut! I must have read every book in the Calumet City library to get as many coupons as I could. You mean to tell me I could get free pizza just by reading a couple of books... COUNT ME IN! I guess you could say that year I was a regular at the Pizza Hut close to my house, and I remember every time we pulled up. Seeing the white sign, black lettering, and the red roof over it.
Well, fast forward a couple of years and the times were changing and Pizza Hut got a new cooler more modern logo. Doesn't it seem like things of the past are coming back? I guess Pizza Hut is going back on that trend as well, according to Delish. Pizza Hut already changed their recipe and now they are changing the logo back! Pizza Hut's Chief Brand Officer, Marianne Radley told CNN Business, "the classic logo will begin appearing on packaging later this year." Apparently, starting this week, the old logo will also be reintroduced in TV ads!
Radley also added, "Pizza Hut is an iconic brand that is engrained in the hearts and minds of so many of our customers, we felt it was our job to make our creative reflect both the rich legacy of Pizza Hut, as well as nod to where we're headed." I can't wait for them to begin using this old logo again, my inner child that read all those books for free pizza is smiling right now!
